Mary Neale Newton McCollum, age 85, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at Embrace Hospice House in Myrtle beach, SC.

Born December 9, 1934 in Clio, SC to the late William Vernon & Hazel Lee Snipes Newton, Sr. Mary was the office manager at Covington Mills and a member of Main St. United Methodist Church in McColl. She liked horseback riding, loved eating Hershey’s chocolates, but most of all she loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mary leaves behind to cherish her loving memory; daughters, Cathy Chaipis (Philip) of Blythewood, SC, Peggy Thompson (Archie) Thompson of McColl; 4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents listed above, husband, William “Billy Mac” Martin McCollum, Jr., brothers, Henry Thomas “Tommy” Newton or better known as “Bubby” and William “Bubber” Vernon Newton, Jr.

A private family funeral service will be held Sunday, June 28, 2020 with a public committal service to follow at Beaverdam cemetery at 3:00 P.M. Memorials may be made to Crescent Hospice 116 N.
