Michael Jason Smith

Michael Jason Smith, age 44 of McColl, passed away after an illness.

Jason was born September 16, 1977 in Charlotte, NC. He was a son of the late James Albert and Betty Howard Smith. Jason enjoyed fishing and weekend bonfires. He also enjoyed working on small engines and go-karts.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Eric Shane Smith.

Jason is survived by his sons; Michael J. Smith II, James E. Smith, and Robert S. Smith. brothers; Dale H. Smith (Jackie) of Clio, Robert Smith and Brent Smith both of McColl; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family members.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday June 2, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Laurinburg, NC. A private interment will take place at a later date.

The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 2:00 p.m.
