Misty Gail Ray, 52, of McColl, SC passed away Thursday, September 16, 2021 in Pinehurst, NC after an extended illness. She was born May 30, 1969 in Laurinburg, NC a daughter of the late Shad Dunn and Brenda Springs. Misty was a member of Springfield Church of God. She was the most loving and caring lady who would give you the shirt off of her back. Mrs. Ray was known as “MeMe” and “Ma Dukes” by her grandchildren and the many children that passed through her home and church life over the years. She loved her children, grandchildren and especially her Lord with everything she had. Misty always looked forward to holidays and especially Christmas.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Shad Dunn and Brenda Springs; a brother, Jerry Don Springs; and a sister, Delores Ann “Dee Dee” Wright.

Survivors include her husband, Curtis Ray of McColl, SC; two sons, Anthony Jones (Caitlin) of Lake Waccamaw, NC and Shane Britt of Wagram, NC; two daughters, Deanna Jones (Lesley) of Columbia, SC and Ashley Hunt of Walterboro, SC; a sister, Bobbie Jo Shoemaker of Maxton, NC; six grandchildren, Cataleya Jones, Abbrey Jones, Avayah Jones, Camber Jones, Lana Hunt and Luca Jones; a special uncle, Jerry Springs; a sister-in-love, Janice Jones; three special nieces, LeAnn Jacobs, Sidney Chavis and Deziray Locklear; a nephew and three other nieces.

The family would like to express their gratitude for all the love and care given to Mrs. Ray by the hospital and staff of First Health Moore Regional Hospital during her stay.

Memorial services will be held 6:00 PM Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Springfield Church of God conducted by Rogers Funeral Home.
