Murray Leroy Outlaw

Murray Leroy Outlaw passed away at his home in McColl on Thursday, May 25, 2023. He was 79 years old.

Born in Hartsville, SC, he was a son of the late Boyd Luke and Addie Mae Jordan Outlaw. Murray was a retired mill technician with Covington Fabrics and a member of First United Christian Faith Holiness Church in McColl. He enjoyed using his metal detector and was a skilled archer, winning many trophies over the years.

Murray is survived by his wife, Betty Jean Herndon of the home; brothers, Jerry Outlaw, Sr. of Laurel Hill, NC, and George Franklin Outlaw (Sheilah) of Florida; his beloved nieces and nephews and other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Mertis Jordan Outlaw, Buck Outlaw, Stevie Outlaw; and sister, Barbara Ann Deaver.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at Rogers Funeral Home, followed by burial in Rogers Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m., just prior to the service.
