Born on June 1, 1957, in Bennettsville, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Bracey and Martha Cribb Strickland. Peggy worked as a nutritionist for Scottish Pines. She leaves to cherish her loving memory: her daughter, Melissa Carmichael (Bobby); her brother, Johnny Strickland (Patty); her sisters, Myra Jean Tyndall, Leola Love, Joyce Grooms, Brenda Slocum, Deborah Harrington (Ernest), and Daisy Locklear (Dan); her grandchildren, Tracy Strickland (Tyheem), Michael McInnis (Lexis), Linda Moore, and Cornelius Clark; her great-grandchildren, Ke’asia Owens, Ze’Andre Strickland, and Ze’Monte Strickland; along with a host of other family members whom she loved dearly, whether by blood or by heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents listed above, grandson, Drayton Strickland, sister, Carol Carter, brothers, Robert Strickland and Bracey E. Strickland, and Brother-in-laws, Rev. Jerry Love and James Tyndall.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at McColl Church of God, with burial to follow at Rogers Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00–8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 20, 2026, at McColl Church of God.
