   Mr. Robert Gene Laws, Sr.  age 77, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at his residence after an illness.

  Born in Hickory, NC, on May 7, 1937, he was the son of  the late Leonard Laws, Sr. and Grace Keller Laws. He attended culinary school and was an Executive Chef.

   He is survived by his companion of 16 years, Karen Hecht-Wagner of Clio; by daughters, Rachel Montgomery of Hoquiam, WA and Beth Marshall of Everett, WA; by a stepson, Gregory Wagner of  West Chester, PA;  by step-daughters, Christine Thuyns of Everrett, Washington and Somone Thuyns of Winston-Salem, NC;  a brother, Leonard "Toby" Laws, Jr. of Hickory, NC; a sister-in-law, Rebecca Laws of Hickory, NC; by grandchildren, Zoe Laws, Isabella Laws, Gillian Montgomery, Cody McIntosh, Marcus Cross, Kaya Nelson, Teagan Thuyns and Jared Marshall; and 2 great-grandsons, Peter Richmond and Devlin Marshall.

  He was preceded in death by two daughters, Margaret Laws and Diana Laws; and a by a son, Robert Gene Laws, Jr.

   No funeral services are planned at this time.
