Samiya Alexis Hatcher

Miss Samiya Alexis Hatcher passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte, NC, surrounded by her loving family. She was 11 years old.

Born August 10, 2006 in Dillon, SC, she was a daughter of Ronnie Christopher Hatcher and Daphne Kay Goins.  Samiya was a member of Oak Hill Church of God in McColl. She was a 6th grade student at McColl Elementary Middle School. Samiya enjoyed playing softball, fishing, riding 4 wheelers, singing and dancing, and being outside, especially barefooted.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory: her parents listed above; brothers, Ronnie “RJ” Hatcher, Jr., Jesiah “Doodle Bug” Harrington, Darian “DK” Harrington; sister, Lyric Goins and special cousin Tierra Hatcher; paternal grandmother, Sylvia Hatcher of McColl; maternal grandmother, Nancy Brock of Bennettsville and maternal grandfather, Johnny Goins of Cheraw, SC; PaPa James Baxley of Turbeville, SC; uncles, Johnny Goins, Jr., Ricky Lee Hatcher, Jackie Quick, and Brad Sweatt; aunts, Gail Sweatt, Amy Hatcher, and Rhonda Herndon (Tony); special friend, Kristen “Rat” Prevatte, and many beloved family members and friends.

Samiya was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Ricky Hatcher and sister, Heaven Hatcher.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Monday, May 14, 2018 at McColl Church of God, officiated by Rev. Brian Oxendine, Rev. Donald Deal, with burial in Rogers Cemetery. A visitation will be held Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Burroughs Funeral Home in Bennettsville from 6-9 pm.
