Mrs. Sarah “Sue” Burroughs Duffy passed away Monday, October 7, 2024, at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence after an illness. She was 77 years old.

Sue was born in Bennettsville, SC on May 30, 1947, to the late Alger and Mary Elizabeth Ransom Burroughs. She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in McColl, SC. She worked as the office manager for Dr. Roy Peele, where she retired. She was a graduate of McColl High School. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She leaves behind to cherish her loving memory; husband, David Allen Duffy, Sr.; sons, David Allen Duffy, Jr. and wife Tracy of Florence, SC and Daniel Alger Duffy and wife Pam of Wilmington, NC; grandchildren, Tristan Lee Duffy, David Allen Duffy, III and wife Brandy, Kaylee Elizabeth Duffy, and Anna Katherine Duffy; great grandchildren, Baker Duffy, Lacey Duffy, and Esther “Essie Allen” Duffy; sisters, Juanita Gibson of McColl, Mable Shelley and husband Bobby of McColl, and Dale Cooley and husband Neil of Weddington, NC.

She was preceded in death by her parents listed above; sisters, Elizabeth “Lib” Foley, Emily Edwards, Mary Lee Burroughs; nephew, Silas Cooley.

A memorial service will be held 2pm, Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Eastside Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Roger Williams. A visitation will be held from 1-2 pm just prior to the service.
