Virgie Mae Locklear Montoya, 82, of McColl, SC passed away Sunday, November, 28, 2021 after an illness. She was born June 28, 1939 in Marlboro County, SC a daughter of the late Donnie Locklear and Myrtle Langley Locklear. She was a member of the Pee Dee Indian Tribe, the V.F.W. Auxiliary and was a Caresouth Carolina Golden Girl.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Donnie and Myrtle Locklear; a daughter, Cynthia Montoya; a brother, David Locklear; and a sister, Katherine Shannon.
Survivors include her two daughters, Karen Montoya (Gerald Schermerhorn) of Hartsville and Teresa Quick (Johnny) of Bennettsville; four sisters, Ophelia Kitchin, Margaret LaBean, Jeanette Redbrook and Geneva Williams; six grandchildren, Carrie, James, Eva, Randy, Jimmy and Johnny; and six great-grandchildren, Matthew, Jocelyn, Aiden, Alayna, Lillith and Lorelei.
The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM, Wednesday at Rogers Funeral Home.
Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Rogers Funeral Home.
