William Luther Ransom

McColl, SC

William Luther Ransom age 67, of McColl, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at his residence.

William was born September 14, 1955, in Bennettsville, SC. He was a son of the late H.B. and Margaret Davis Ransom. William was a former machine operator with FCC. He was also a former member of the McColl Volunteer Fire Department. William loved the Lord. He was a faithful member of the McColl Church of God. William enjoyed fishing, working in the yard, and baking cakes for people. He had a good sense of humor and enjoyed being around people. Most of all, William loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by a wife, Corine Cummings Ransom; and siblings, Richard Davis and Diane Jernigan.

William is survived by his wife, Annette Hopkins Ransom of McColl; sons, Christopher Cummings and Christopher Ransom (April) both of McColl; daughters, Crystal Ransom and Angela Ransom Caulder of McColl; sisters, Carol Coleman, Janice Jones (Wayne), Lisa Jones, and Edna Britt (Lewis), all of McColl; grandchildren, Jacob Caulder, Maddie Johnson, Gage Cummings, Brayden Locklear, Kayleigh Ransom, and Peyton “Charlie” Ransom; great grandchildren, Cooper Caulder, Weston Shenkle, and Lucas Colvin; several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at 4:00 P.M. at the McColl Church of God. Burial will follow the service at Rogers Cemetery.

A time of visitation will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023, from 3:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at the McColl Church of God.
