McColl, SC
William Henry Shelley, widower of the late Juanita Knight Shelley, passed away peacefully at his residence on Saturday, September 6, 2025, following an illness. He was 79 years old.
Born on August 30, 1946, in Aynor, SC, he was the son of the late Rowenia Shelley. He was a longtime resident of McColl and a faithful member of McColl Pentecostal Holiness Church. He worked as a machine operator with Campbell Soup and was known for his strong work ethic and dedication.
In his free time, William enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially working in his yard and hunting. He was an avid fan of racing, football, and baseball—especially when it came to cheering on his favorite team, the Atlanta Braves.
William leaves behind many who will cherish his memory, including his son, Mark Shelley (Karen) ; daughter, Pam Carnes; brothers, Bobby Shelley and James “Piggy” Bryant; and a host of beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita; his mother, Rowenia Shelley; his sister, Mary Lee Elvis; his brother, Harold Shelley; and his grandson, Eric Odom.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at Rogers Cemetery in McColl, officiated by Rev. Brian Oxendine.
