Mr. William “Bill” Nathan Bethea, Jr. passed away Monday, November 8, 2021, after an illness at Levine Dickson Hospice House – Southminster in Charlotte, NC. He was 94 years old.

Bill was born in Maxton, NC on August 2, 1927, to the late William Nathan Sr. and Annie Galloway Bethea. He was a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church in McColl. He served in the United States Navy. He attended high school at Berry School for boys and received his Associates degree from Darlington Business College. He served as a volunteer fire fighter, the masons, the McColl School Board, in various offices with Main Street United Methodist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He leaves behind to cherish his loving memory; son, William Michael Bethea (Lori); daughter, Michele Bethea Wright (Mike); grandchildren, Alexa, Kathryn, and Killian.

He was preceded in death by his parents listed above; wife, Erlene S. Bethea; siblings, Louise Bethea Hedgepeth, Joe Charles Bethea, Rosa Lee Bethea Goodson, Martha Bethea Wilson, Ohlyne Bethea Williamson, and Peggy Bethea Freeman.

A graveside service will be held 2pm, Thursday, November 11, 2021, at Roselawn Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Randy Bowers. A visitation will be held from 5-7 pm, Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at Main Street United Methodist Church in McColl.
