Ada (Daniels) Giddens

Mrs. Ada Daniels Giddens of McColl entered the eternal joy of her Saviour on Friday, April 1st, 2016.  She was 89 years old.

There will be a celebration of Mrs. Gidden’s life on Wednesday, April 6th, 2016 at 4:00 PM at the New Life Pentecostal Holiness Church on Academy Rd. in Laurinburg with Rev. Dwayne Powers officiating and burial will follow at Rogers Cemetery.  There will be a time of visitation starting at 3:00, also at the church. 

Mrs. Giddens was born May 4th, 1926 in Dillon County, SC.  She spent her working years in the cotton mill working as a spinner.  She loved watching old family shows like “Gunsmoke”, “Little House On The Prairie” and “The Waltons” and she loved working in the yard.  Mrs. Giddens was devoted to her family and she adored her grandchildren and nothing made her happier than cooking for them all.

Mrs. Giddens was preceded in death by her husband, David Manuel Giddens (1993) as well as two brothers, Bernie Caulder and Cartner Caulder, and two sisters, Carolyn Hannah and Ellen Parker. 

To cherish her memory she leaves behind a son,  Wayne David Giddens and two daughters, Maxine Giddens Deaver and husband Donald of Cheraw and Geraldine Giddens Ellis and husband James of McColl; five grandchildren, Michelle Lewis and husband Dennis, Donald Deaver II and wife Lisa, Kevin Ellis and wife Amy, Brandi Hodge and husband John, and Carley Giddens (Josh Blackwell);  nine great-grandchildren, Dylan Ellis, Alaina Ellis, LeAnn Hodge, Emma Blackwell, Donald Deaver, III, Kyle Lewis, Jessica Holt, Adalyn Holt, and Kyra Lewis and a host of nephews, nieces, special friends Elsie Scott and Rosa Mae Webster, and many neighbors who will miss her.
