John Bunch Pearce, age 73, of McColl, S.C., joined his parents Ruth and Ellis Pearce, under God’s wings on September 18, 2016. Special memories and love are held dear by his loving wife of 45 years, Alice Ann Miller Pearce, his son Jon Paul Pearce, his daughter Tamara Roberson (Ken), and grandchildren Sarah and Abbey Pearce, Kramer (Haley), Victoria, Keaton and Kandler Roberson, and his great-grandchildren Kellan and Lyla Rose Roberson. Also holding special memories are his brother Henry Ellis (Pete) Pearce, Jr. and wife Margaret Jo, his sister Kathy Pearce Jarman and husband Fred; nieces Anne Pearce, Beth Pearce Bilderback, Ruth Pearce Savinda and Sheena Holbrook Cox; aunts Hazel Pierce Allen, Ruth Cranford Pearce, Ann Pearce; uncle Pat Pearce and wife Lessie; along with numerous cousins and extended family.

 

John graduated from McColl High School in 1961. He then attended Clemson University. John moved to Atlanta and worked for Sherwin Williams and later for the State of Georgia Revenue Service, from which he retired after more than 20 years of service. He and his wife moved to the Bunch/Pearce family home in McColl in 2004. 

 

John was a life-long member of Main Street United Methodist Church in McColl, S.C. as well as a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Stockbridge, Georgia during his years in Atlanta. He was a very dedicated church member, active in the United Methodist Men and served on many church committees. He gave selflessly and generously of his time, his love and his spirit to the church and his community. He was always there for anyone who needed him, with his ever present warm hug and bright smile. John held his church and community families in special places in his heart.

 

The family offers deep appreciation for the care, concern and love expressed by everyone. The family requests that donations be made in John Bunch Pearce’s name to the Main Street United Methodist Church, McColl, S.C. The address to the church is 210 N. Main St., McColl, S.C.
