Mr. Richard Hunt, age 57, of Maxton, NC, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Scotland County, NC, on November 28, 1959, he was the son of the late Earl Hunt, Sr., and Jamie McGirt Hunt. He was a painter and was of the Holiness faith, and he enjoyed worshipping at many area churches. Mr. Richard enjoyed fishing, working picture puzzles, working in his yard, and shooting pool.
He is survived by a daughter, Christina Daniels Jean-Louis of Georgia; brothers, Owen Hunt (Frances) and Poncie Hunt (Hattie) both of Maxton, NC; sisters, Molly Wiggins, and Mary Herndon both of Bennettsville and Marilyn Locklear of Rowland, NC; by two grandchildren, Vanessa and Jay Washington; his special friend, Katie Prosser of McColl; and by a host of other family & friends.
A family led Service to Celebrate Richard's life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at Blenheim Worship officiated by Rev. Roger Adkins.
The family will greet friends at the church from 1:00-2:00 P.M. prior to the service.
Mr. Hunt was preceded in death by his parents listed above; by brothers, L.W. Hunt, Albert Hunt, Sr., and Earl Hunt, Jr.; and a sister Katheleen Hunt Harper.
