Mr. James Rufus “Bones” Clark, age 71, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at his home.
Born in Blenheim, SC, on March 22, 1944, he was the son of the late James Curtis Clark and Elva Lee "Judy" Caulk Clark. He had a career in the textile industry with both Mohawk Industries as a Quality Control Manager and with Franco Manufacturing Company(Dillon,SC) as a Tow Motor Operator, and was of the Baptist faith. James was an avid fisherman who enjoyed shooting pool and gardening. He will be remembered as a loving family guy who enjoyed joking and spending time with his friends.
He is survived by his loving companion, Norma Smith of McColl; two sons, Kenneth Smith (Linda) of Laurinburg, NC and James Douglas Clark (Anita) of Dillon; a daughter, Rebecca Darlene Clark of Dillon; two brothers, Arthur Lavern Clark (Betty) of Dillon and Charles Allen Clark (Lois) of Laurinburg, NC; a sister, Elva Jean Herring of Dillon; by three grandchildren, Carl E. Owens, Shane Owens and Brittany Beards; also by four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 3:00P.M. on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Berea United Methodist Church with burial following in Priest Cemetery. The family will receive friends froms 7-9P.M. on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Rogers Funeral Home.
Mr. James was preceded in death by his parents listed above; an infant son, Leroy Anthony Smith; a brother, William C. Clark; and by a brother-in-law, Buddy Herring.
