Sister Mandora Jacobs Hargrove, age 81, beloved widow of the late A.C. Hargrove, entered into her Heavenly home on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at Scotland Memorial Hospital in Laurinburg, NC surrounded by her precious family.

Born in Marlboro County, SC, on August 6, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Clydia P. Jacobs and Mary Oxendine Jacobs. She retired from Abbott Laboratories in Laurinburg as a Production Operations Inspector. She served as a charter member of Daniel’s Chapel Holiness Church, taught Sunday school for many years, and was recognized as “The Mother of the Church."  She loved the Lord with all of her heart and spent her life going to church and winning souls to Christ. She loved canning and providing meals for her family. She will be remembered as a shining example of love and concern, a strong woman of faith, a consistent prayer warrior, and a dedicated Christian servant. 

She leaves to cherish her memory: a son, Jerry Hargrove of McColl; daughters, Dora Hargrove of McColl, Mary Ann H. Quick (Speedy) of Bennettsville, Janice Hargrove of Collins, GA, Geraldine H. Kersey (Steve) of Laurinburg, NC, Brenda Hargrove of Bennettsville, and two granddaughters whom she raised as daughters, Hope Robinson (Jimmy) of Marietta, GA and Angela Price and her friend, Glenn Harsh of Laurel Hill, NC; a special sister, Sister Evadean Chavis of Laurinburg, NC; 22 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild on the way.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M. on Friday, July 10, 2015 at Daniel’s Chapel Holiness Church with burial following in the church cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8P.M. on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Rogers Funeral Home in McColl.

In addition to her parents and husband listed above, she was predeceased by three sons, Tony Hargrove, Thomas Lee Hargrove and Elbert C. Hargrove; and by two brothers, James L. Jacobs and Bonnie Ray Jacobs.
